The knowledge and dissection of moves are just intriguing.

I am impressed by how many tutorials are available and the quality. Would like something better about advancing and going back on the moves - maybe just a button for forward and another for going back. The tutorials are from $.99 and up - most at $.99. So far I have purchased 2 at $.99 and they are very good - much depth and variation moves. It is worth a try - to see if you like it.

Fantastic! Beginners is still a bit advanced but im catching on.

Im so glad to see a program like this! This program is like having a chess e-book that you can purchase sections for. But, its better than that. Chess U outdoes every clunky chess e-book app Ive seen with its elegant interface. Navigation through variations, many with visual annotation, has never been smoother or easier. It also quizzes you and gives you a rating. Im tired of people complaining about price, too. You buy what you want, and you usually get more than what you pay for. For the amount of learning time you get out of these top-level lessons, its really a bargain. These are written and programmed by IMs and GMs, people! How much do chess lessons, books, or subscriptions cost? If you spent $50 a *year* here, youd be pretty busy, and youd have a lot to later come back to. There are minor flaws where a quiz doesnt show the exact position to evaluate. But, if youre tracking the lesson, you should see that kind of thing right away. After all, professors make small mistakes, too. Finally, an app that delivers quality, progressive chess instruction, and not just tactics.

Excellent learning tool for advanced and returning players, extremely instructive comments, great user interface (rarely buggy). For instance, I never liked or understood the Sicilian well, but now enjoy playing it! Wish there were a better way to monetize it from a user perspective, because less serious hobbyists will look for no cost alternatives--could be a barrier to mass adoption.

I rate this app very high because I find it makes learning chess at all levels of play informative, and understandable. New learning material comes in constantly. This is a great way to learn chess if you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced player.

Did like it so so.The world champions/grandmaster games seem reasonable,but I would like to have more explanation for for example not taking a specific hard to see sacrifice and justifications for not trading into a two bishops endgame if one has the initial possibility to do so.

This is an awesome app for learning or improving your chess. Unlike other chess apps with ebooks, these are inexpensive, easy to follow and use. The support given to users is phenomenal, some of the best Ive seen. Thank You for allowing me to improve my chess exponentially.

Great commentary. Can easily play out variations. Advance and back keys are a bit cumbersome. Would like option to play position against computer. Overall a fantastic teaching tool for chess players of all levels.
